
What is Core-Connector?
Workday Connectors are pre-built integration templates that extend Workday’s functionality to external systems for Human Capital Management (HCM), Payroll, Payroll Interface, Financial Management, and Spend Management. All integrations are hosted and maintained by Workday.
Workday Connectors are currently available for:
- Benefits
- HCM
- Workday Payroll
- Third-Party Payroll
- Financials
- Spend Management
Building an integration with the Core Connector: Positions
Create Integration system:
Step1: Type create integration system in the search tab and select the same in the resultsIntegration systems are tenanted definitions of a Workday integration. An integration system has the following building blocks:
- Integration Template
- Integration Service
- Integration attribute
- Integration Map
- Transaction Log
Step 2: Input Integration System Name and Select Core-Connector: Positions in TemplateContains a set of attributes and maps related to a specific integration function. Integration services use XSLT (extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations) to convert Workday XML into a format that an external system can read.
Step 3: Select required Integration template services.Integration Template Establishes the framework for data exchange through a collection of integration services.
Step 4:Navigate to related actions and select Configure Integration attributes. Select the version and choose the highest available version. Save the screenIntegration Attribute Provides one or more tenanted values for a data element in Workday
Step 5: Navigate to configure integration field attributes and choose the fields required in the output by checking the boxes.
Step 6:In actions select the integration click launch/ schedule and select run now n launch integration screen.
Step 7: Select Full Extract in next window and click ok.
Step 8: Output Files get generated.
Step 9: Download xml file and see the output.
INTEGRATION SYSTEM FIELD OVERRIDESField overrides are a flexible tool to customize your integration system. Use field overrides to map tenanted data to an external system and add custom values to integration output files. Field overrides use report fields or calculated fields to supply the values that are required by the external system.To configure integration field overrides, as a related action on the integration system, Select Integration System >> Configure Integration Field Overrides.
INTEGRATION ATTRIBUTES
Integration attributes provides one or more tenanted values for a data element in Workday. Integration attributes are configurable constants that may need to be changed occasionally in Workday. To modify attributes for an integration navigate to the related action Integration System >> Configure Integration Attributes on the integration system.
INTEGRATION SYSTEM INTEGRATION FIELD ATTRIBUTES
Field attributes enable you to configure the contents of an integration output file field by field. You can select which fields to include in the integration, specify whether the fields are required, and specify maximum field length.To modify field attributes for an integration, as a related action on the integration system, Select Integration System >> Configure Integration Field Attributes.
